US spaceship Endeavour successfully started towards the International Space Station

After four delayed launchings, the American spaceship Endeavour successfully started towards the International Space Station on Thursday at 01:23 Moscow time from the cosmodrome on Cape Canaveral (Florida).

The National Air Space Agency (NASA) feared that bad weather in the region of the cosmodrome would interfere with this launching of the Shuttle, too. The weather people forecast heavy cloudiness, possible rain and a thunderstorm and gave only forty percent of the chance to launch the Shuttle this day. However, fortunately, the weather changed for the better and the spacecraft has been launched.

The start of the Endeavour, which was planned to be carried out last Friday, was twice postponed due to bad weather and twice because of technical malfunctions.

As has been reported by the NASA, the main task of the Endeavour's expedition is to bring to the station the fifth crew of the long-term expedition, headed by Russian cosmonaut Valery Korzun. The expedition includes another Russian - second flight engineer Sergei Treshev, and first flight engineer Peggy Whitson from the United States.
