Taleban to hand over dead US spy

The Taleban authorities have asked the International Committee of the Red Cross to take the body of who they claim to be an American spy to Pakistan.

The ICRC confirm the request of the Taleban authorities and state that they are trying to identify the man, in Kandahar and are trying to organise for his family or the US authorities to receive his body on the frontier with Pakistan. The US embassy has declared that an investigation is under way.

Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, Taleban spokesperson in Pakistan, stated that the male United States citizen was killed some days after having been arrested in Kandahar. He was suspected of being a spy.
