Yevgeny Khorishko, member of the election commission in the Russian embassy to the USA reported that on Saturday in the American city of Houston (Texas) early elections into the State Duma (lower house of the Russian parliament) would take place.
According to him, on Sunday voting will take place in 13 polling stations in 11 largest American cities, namely: Washington, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Cleveland, Sacramento and Miami.
Taking into account the number of people entitled to vote and staying on US territory with Russian passports the largest number of polling stations were organized in New York (three) and in the state of California (three).
The representative of the election commission stated that on US territory voting results would relate to the Severny single-mandate district No. 209 (St Petersburg) and added that as of that day all 14 polling stations in the USA were "prepared for voting." Khorishko stated that the information regarding working hours and addresses of polling stations as well as on voting time was in advance disseminated in the USA through Russian-speaking mass media, including TV channels and newspapers.
