Russia agrees to coordinate attacks against ISIS with Pentagon

The Russian Defense Ministry has agreed to start coordination with the Pentagon in the struggle against the Islamic State.

Major-General Igor Konashenkov said that "the Russian Defense Ministry responded to the request from the Pentagon and promptly considered the proposals from the Americans on the coordination of actions in the fight against the Islamic State terrorist group in Syria."

According to Konashenkov, the proposals could be implemented, although one needs to clarify all the technical details first. 

Noteworthy, US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter has recently stated that Washington and its allies would take counter measures in response to Russia's actions in Syria. At the same time, Ashton added, Washington was open to cooperation with Moscow on the issue.
