The European Union hailed the appeal of Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica to Kosovo Serbs to take part in elections in Kosovo slated for November 17. A EU special statement says that the European Union always stressed the importance of participation in the province's elections of representatives of all ethnic communities. Through this they will be able to be represented in all democratic institutions and contribute to the formation of genuine democratic and multi-ethnic society in the province, the EU believes. Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, also hailed the appeal of the Yugoslavian President to Kosovo Serbs in a special statement.
