French President Jacques Chirac to Visit Saint Petersburg on May 30-31

French President Jacques Chirac will visit Saint Petersburg on May 30-31. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced by French Consul in Saint Petersburg Stephan Visconti. He said that Mr Chirac will attend the meeting of EU leaders with Russian President Vladimir Putin and he will also visit the new building of the Polar Academy.

According to Mr Visconte, Russia and France are working closely in the area of polar exploration. An exhibition Russia and France: polar exploration is being organised by the Polar Academy together with the Paris and Saint Petersburg Geographic Societies and will be held in Saint Petersburg on October 22-30.
