Uzbek Troops Near Afghan Border On Alert

The Uzbek troops deployed near the Afghan border, were put on alert on Sunday evening. At the same time, Uzbek authorities commenced a "partial evacuation" of the population inhabiting the bordering regions. The aforementioned Uzbek activities relate to the recent threats from the Taliban movement. On Saturday, Taliban spokesmen promised to attack Uzbekistan if it provided its territory for the US strikes at Afghanistan. According to the US Defence Department, all the bomb and missile strikes delivered on Sunday night, should be considered, from the legal point of view, as the ones delivered from the US territory.
