US Embassy In Moscow Took No Additional Security Measures

It was reported by the US Embassy in Moscow Monday that it had not taken any additional security measures. On October 8, the US Embassy will be closed in connection with Columbus Day celebrations. In the meantime, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports from Washington that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had urged extreme vigilance among all law-enforcement bodies of the country in the face of possible acts of terrorism. All the local law-enforcement bodies have been recommended to decide whether it is expedient to take additional security measures in connection with the military operation under way in Afghanistan and the existing threat. The warning was circulated through the federal system of notification of security threats. At the same time, reported the Fox-TV company, the FBI does not possess any information on any plotted acts of terrorism.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
