Underway are arrangements for a meeting of experts on terrorism of the G-8 countries, with the proposal having been offered by Russia. The experts will gather to work out specific anti-terrorist measures, according to a Russian foreign ministry spokesman. He said the problem dominated a Washington meeting of the finance ministers of the Group of Eight. Considering it crucial to seal off the channels of financing international terrorism, Russia put forward a range of related proposals and ideas, said a foreign ministry spokesman. Russia has been playing a leading role in stepping up the G-8 effort to create a global system that would deal with emerging threats and challenges, primarily international terror.
