Blair Enthusiastic About Russian Anti-Terror Contribution

"Outstanding," Prime Minister Tony Blair says of what Russia is doing on the anti-terror cause. The Russian stance on efforts against international terrorism is one of the essential aspects of developments following the September 11 terror acts, he said to an extraordinary session of the British Parliament. "I congratulate Vladimir Putin and the Russian government on the support they have offered. It was not easy for them to get to the US side, but they did it, and they are offering strong support." Russia lost hundreds of lives in terror acts of 1999, and is vitally interested in the global terrorist network destroyed. When global changes after the September 11 tragedy are discussed, we can say that Russia has improved relations with the United States and the entire Western world, said Tony Blair.
