Days of Russia beginning in Indonesia

Days of Russia, organized by the Russian Federation's Embassy in Indonesia, opened in the administrative center of Indonesian province West Jawa, Bandung city, on Wednesday, October 8.

Days of Russia will be held in one of the largest Indonesian universities Pajajaran at which more than 40,000 students and post-graduate students are trained.

Within two days Russian feature films and documentaries will be shown in the university, a photo exhibition showing the history of the establishment and development of relations between Russia and Indonesia will open, and a seminar devoted to the prospects of Russian-Indonesian cooperation will take place.

"We are with pleasure participating in the organization of this event," rector of Pajajaran university Professor Himendra Wargahadibrata said in an interview with RIA Novosti. "A Russian language chair was opened at our university back in 1964. More than 100 students are now being trained at it, and Days of Russia will be a genuine holiday for them." "I am particularly satisfied with the fact that their knowledge is in increasing demand in our country," the professor stressed. "In recent time, especially after the April visit of President Megawati Sukarnoputri to Russia, Indonesian-Russian cooperation in different spheres has been steadily broadening. We are glad to make a contribution of our own to this positive process."
