Russian Pacific Fleet commander invited to USA naval base

Commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet Admiral Viktor Fyodorov will pay an official visit to the US naval base, Pearl Harbor on June 9 through 14. This will be the first official visit of the Pacific Fleet commander to the USA. Earlier only combat ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet visited the USA.

The Fleet's press service reported on Monday that this visit will be paid at the invitation of Commander of the US Pacific Fleet Walter F. Doran in the format of an annual bilateral cooperation plan between the Russian and US fleets.

During the visit, the sides will discuss issues pertaining to the further development of the Fleets' cooperation. The programme stipulates a number of official and informal meetings of the Russian Admiral and the US Pacific Fleet Troops Commander-in-Chief Admiral Thomas B. Fargo, the commander of the US Pacific Fleet Admiral Walter Doran and other US generals and admirals.
