USA asked Greek aithorities inform them about Vladimir Gusinsky case investigation

George Bush's Administration appealed to Greek Government with a request to keep it informed about the situation around the case of Vladimir Gusinsky, Richard Boucher, US State Department official representative, said Monday.

"We keep track of the Vladimir Gusinsky case, who has American immigration visa as of August 21, when he was detained by Greek authorities," Boucher said.

Former Russian media tycoon was detained at Athens international airport. Greek officials declared the basis for his arrest was the order issued in Russia.

The Athens court of appeal Prosecutor has determined Gusinsky would have to expect a decision about his possible extradition to Russia while being incarcerated. The very same day Gusinsky was taken to Athens Coridallos jail. However, later he was released on bail until his extradition case is examined.
