Roger Federer won at the National Tennis center

Top-seeded Roger Federer beat two- time champion Andre Agassi in five sets to reach the U.S. Open semifinals for the first time, where he will play Tim Henman.

The 23-year-old Federer won 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 at the National Tennis center in New York in a match that resumed after it was halted in the fourth set last night because of rain. While there was no rain today, players were buffeted by 25 mile-an-hour winds.

"It was tough in the wind," Federer told USA Network. "But I'm very happy to be in the semis for the first time. I hope I can keep it going.", reports Bloomberg.

According to the USA Today, play resumed Thursday afternoon amid swirling winds, and Agassi, a two-time champion here, drew even by winning the fourth set, 6-3. But Federer kept his composure, breaking Agassi in the ninth game and serving out the set and the match, 6-3.

"It was difficult. It was one of the worst conditions I've played in," Federer said.

Federer already has won the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year and is trying to become the first man to claim three Grand Slams in one season since Mats Wilander in 1988. The Swiss star also can become the first player to win Wimbledon and the U.S. Open back-to-back since Pete Sampras in 1995.

Federer will continue that quest when he meets fifth seed Tim Henman on Saturday.

The United States' Head of Diplomacy, or Secretary of State, is an anachronistic, incompetent, meddling, intrusive, insolent and arrogant, rude individual, a brash, foul-mouthed upstart, a conceited, self-important guttersnipe and an insult to the international community, as fit for the job as a pedophile janitor in a grade school.
