Russian-Japanese consultations of deputy foreign ministers will begin in Tokyo on Tuesday. They will be devoted to Russian-Japanese cooperation in combating international terrorism and quests of ways to make headway in the border issue. Russia's ambassador to Japan Alexander Panov noted at a press conference last week that the consultations will be devoted mainly to cooperation between Moscow and Tokyo in countering terrorism. The Ambassador said that the concrete time of the visit to Japan by Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov scheduled for November-December may be fixed at the consultations. The sides are also expected to discuss the agenda of a possible meeting between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and US President George W. Bush during the forthcoming meeting of leaders of the participating countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum to be held in Shanghai on October 20-21.
