USA to attack Iraq - 9 November, 2001 - News

Colin Powell insinuates that Iraq will be attacked again after the campaign in Afghanistan has ended.

Speaking to Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, US Secretary of State Colin Powell declared that “We must finish the terrorist threat posed by Osama Bin Laden against the world”, an attack in which the Taleban will also be removed.

As for the next phase, he told his counterpart that the USA will then turn its attention towards terrorist groups around the world “and nations like Iraq, which try to develop weapons of mass destruction, should know that we are concerned about this”.

Recent opinion polls have indicated that 80% of Americans feel that Iraq should be attacked in the war against terrorism and that Saddam Hussein should be overthrown.
