A forum of young Mongolian scientists is opening in Ulan Bator. The forum is held in the context of the jubilee events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the country's establishing scientific organisations and the 40th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia. The forum will be attended by over 200 young scientists from research institutions, universities and higher education institutions of the Mongolian capital and the country's regions. The forum participants will exchange views on the present situation in Mongolian science and will discuss its tasks today. The young scientists will also discuss the most perspective trends in the development of science in the world. Their research work in the sphere of gene engineering, computer technologies, electronics and nuclear research are well known far beyond the country and arouse interest among foreign scientists. At the present time, Mongolian scientists are working in the leading research centres, institutions and laboratories of many foreign countries, including the USA, Great Britain and Germany. It is supposed that in the course of this forum Mongolian President Natsagiyn Bagabandi will present state awards to a number of young scientists of the country who have achieved great successes in scientific research.
