Russian-japanese Relations Are At Their Peak, According To Japanese Ambassador To Russia

At the moment Russian-Japanese relations "are at the peak of their development," Minoru Tamba, Japan's ambassador to Russia, said on Wednesday. The ambassador was speaking at a ceremony of planting cherry trees in front of the building of the Higher School of Business, Moscow State University (MGU), named after Mikhail Lomonosov. The Japanese diplomat also noted that he views the opening of this school as one of new impulses in the development of bilateral relations. Viktor Sadovnichy, MGU rector, said that the Higher School of Business, which was opened on January 17 of this year in the presence of Japan's Foreign Minister Yohei Kono, conducts classes in many fields. The rector expressed hope that "the school will be another gem in the MGU necklace". The ambassador and the rector, to the sounds of national music, performed the act of planting two cherry trees symbolising Japan. One of them is "Russian with green leaves" and the other Japanese "with red leaves"
