Police detain suspects in Tennessee man's murder case

Police found early Monday a corpse of a 94-year-old man in a thicket of bushes in an industrial park about 40 miles northeast of Knoxville. He was fatally beaten, his left hand cut off. Supposedly the criminals attempted to rob the man.

Three people were taken into custody after the evidence (butcher knives and a left hand) was found in one of the suspects' cars.

Darrell Nance, 22, was charged with murder, Jessica Lane , 23, was charged as being an accomplice in the murder. Brice Whaley (age not available) was charged with accessory to the abuse of a corpse. He is accused of helping to dispose of the body afterward.

The suspects were put in the Hamblen County Jail pending bond hearings.
