Problems of international terrorism will be in the centre of attention of the ASEAN session

The events at the tenth session of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Pnompenh (Cambodia) will deal with the questions of countering international terrorism and transnational crime. As RIA Novosti was told in the information and press department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian delegation at the session will be headed by Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov.

The session and the conferences in the format of the ASEAN plus 10 Partners in the Dialogue and the ASEAN-Russia will take place in Pnompenh on June 17-19.

As the Russian Foreign Ministry reported, at these meetings views will be exchanged on the key aspects of international and regional situations, including the postwar situation in Iraq, the Middle East settlement and the North Korean nuclear problem.

The Foreign Ministers of Russia and of the ASEAN countries are expected to sign a Joint Declaration on partnership and on ensuring peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
