Russia's Peacemakers to Uphold Law and Order during Parliamentary Elections in Macedonia

Russia's peacemakers, being the best, will be the ones to uphold law and order during parliamentary elections in Macedonia scheduled for September 15. This is according to the statement made yesterday at a press conference by Boris Traikowski, Macedonia's President. He added that at a time when the Albanians' attacks on towns and villages have become more frequent, Macedonia is morally entitled to asking Russia to be the observer at the elections.

Macedonia's government believes that the international peacemaking contingent, which mainly consists of troops from NATO's member countries has proven unable to control the situation in the most dangerous areas in Macedonia. Over just the last week, over 15 people were killed in the country, including several ethnic Russians.
