Unidentified man throws book at Obama during rally in Philadelphia

41958.jpegPresident Obama sought to recapture the spirit of 2008 at a huge rally in Philadelphia yesterday, though flying books and naked men presumably weren't part of that spirit. Somebody threw a book at the president as he spoke, missing narrowly. Both the book and the thrower remain unidentified, Gawker notes.

A naked man attempting to claim Internet entrepreneur Alki David's $1 million prize for the first person to streak at an Obama event was later taken away in handcuffs, Newser reports.

The Weekly Standard reports that the streaker is Juan James Rodriguez, a 24-year-old who pulled the stunt to win $1 million. Billionaire Alki David, who offered in the summer to give $1 million to the first person to streak in front of Obama as long as "Battlecam" was written on the streaker's chest, told the Weekly Standard he plans to pay up "when I see the video and it's confirmed."

It's unclear if Obama noticed the streaker, who is pictured being escorted by police officers out of the event, which was held in a field outside an elementary school. There were no interruptions during Obama's 30-minute speech, Gawker informs.
