9 Al-qaeda Militants Detained In Pakistan

Pakistan security forces have detained, in one of the Afghan border regions, nine Al-Qaeda militants from the Kandahar and Kabul garrisons. This was reported by the News newspaper on Tuesday. A large amount of weapons were seized from the militants, including grenade launchers, heavy machine-guns and also radios and a large sum of money. Special services have begun interrogating the terrorists. In the last three days more than 20 foreign Taliban mercenaries, mainly Arabs, have been arrested by Pakistan special services in the Beluchistan province. All of the militants were fleeing from Kandahar. According to the Pakistan press, at present in particularly dangerous parts of the border with Afghanistan two regular army brigades, armoured vehicles and a helicopter squadron have been deployed. According to the local press, in the Pakistan province of Penzhab the police have successfully arrested terrorist Kashif Keshi, who has long been wanted after committing a number of murders on interegional soil and who was hiding with the Taliban. After the fall of the regime the fundamentalist Keshi returned to his homeland, but was arrested in Dzhang.
