Americans do not want return of Iraqi refugees from Iran. Is that so?

The U.S. occupation forces in Iraq are hampering the fulfilment of the program for the repatriation of the Iraqi refugees from Iran, the statement by the press service of the department for foreign citizens' affairs of the Iranian Interior Ministry issued on Tuesday says.

"The implementation of the joint program for the return of the forced migrants from Iran to Iraq by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the Iranian government begins next week. However, the U.S. military authorities hamper the process," the statement points out.

Against their previous decision, the Americans let only 100 Iraqi citizens return home. Thus, the repatriation of the Iraqi citizens may be unreasonably delayed, the statement says.

According to the statistics, more than two thousand Iraqis are in Iran now.
