Britain: four men arrested on suspicion of terrorism released

British police said Wednesday that four men arrested in an investigation into international terrorism had been released without charge.

The men were among a group of ten arrested by British anti-terror police in a series of early morning raids on Saturday. One man was released following questioning on Sunday, while five others remain in police custody.

London's Metropolitan Police said in a statement Saturday that the men, picked up at properties in Derby and Wolverhampton, in England's Midlands region, and in Croydon, south London, were arrested "on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism."

A police spokesman said the men released Wednesday had been taken into custody at the Wolverhampton property. Police have until Saturday to question the remaining suspects who are still being detained. A.M.
