Democrat Leader Of US Senate Tom Dashle Disapproves Of US Intention To Quit ABM Treaty

The US administration's intention to quit the ABM Treaty is a bad idea. Tom Dashle, leader of the Democrat majority in the US Senate, was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying to CNN. The violation of the ABM Treaty will badly affect the US defence and foreign policy, he stressed. According to the Senator, the withdrawal from the Treaty will come as a "slap in the face" to those who spent years, if not decades, cutting their arsenals. Tom Dashle expressed the hope that the US administration would be more careful in determining the ABM Treaty's fate. I would like to hope that they /the administration/ will reconsider their plans, stressed the US Senator.
