57 Al-Qaeda Militants, Who Fled Afghanistan, Found Refuge In Somali

Fifty-seven members of the terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda, headed by Osama bin Laden, who fled Afghanistan, have found refuge in Somali. This was reported by the Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail with reference to one of the Somali leaders in opposition to the country's transitional government, Hussein Aidida. According to him, the Al-Qaeda militants, who have sufficient sums of money, "buy" protection and good attitude on the part of the local authorities and the poor population, as they did earlier in Afghanistan. In the opinion of a number of the American mass media, Somali is the next most possible target, after Afghanistan, of the US anti-terrorist operation.
