North Korea is preparing to conduct another nuclear test, experts at the US-Korea Institute at SAIS said as a result of the analysis of satellite images of Pungeri test site in North Korea. The analysis of the images showed increased activity on the test site.
According to the experts, various materials and equipment have been delivered to the northern part of the test site, where the fourth nuclear test was carried out in January of this year.
At the same time, the experts admitted that it was difficult to establish whether the activity on the test site indicated technical maintenance or preparations for a fifth nuclear explosion.
Nevertheless, it is obvious that North Korea has been taking effort to ensure the readiness of Pungeri test site for another nuclear explosion upon an adequate command from Pyongyang, the experts concluded.
