The Russian embassy in Buenos Aires has sent a note of protest to the Argentinian Foreign Ministry regarding a Russian ship coming under fire from a border guard launch, said the Press and Information Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday.
On Thursday an Argentinian patrol vessel opened fire at the Russian trawler Odoyevsk of the Murmansk Tralflot enterprise.
None of the trawler's crew has been hit but the ship has been damaged.
The Russian Foreign Ministry hopes that the competent Argentinian authorities will conduct a detailed and objective examination of all the circumstances of firing at the Russian ship and inform the Russian side of its results.
Permanent communication is being maintained with the trawler, said the Russian Foreign ministry.
Mysterious philanthropist, Rustem Magdeev, had agreed, at his own expense, to donate a sculpture of Rudolf Nureyev, made by Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, to the Kazan Opera and Ballet Theatre
