The 45th Air Show opens today in Le Bourget near Paris. It is held once in two years and is regarded as one of the most important and representative events in the world aerospace industry.
This time its new products will be displayed in a reduced format, according to the organizers. Two years ago the manufacturers of aircraft and arms from 41 countries demonstrated their output, whereas now their number has gone down to 38. This time 201 aircraft, 25 less than at the previous air show, will be on display.
Russia has brought about 300 exhibits, mainly mockups and charts. Because of the actions by the well-known Swiss Noga company, which repeatedly tried to arrest Russian property in France, it was decided not to display the famous Russian Su-27 and Mig-29 combat aircraft but to bring only the Yak-130 training plane.
The number of U.S. exhibits has notably reduced. The U.S. will show 19 planes against 27 it brought two years back.
