Echelon with ammunition leaves transdniestria for Russia

In the early hours of Saturday a third echelon in June with ammunition left Transdniestria for Russia. Transdniestria is mostly a Russian-speaking region in eatsern Moldova where an armed conflict developed in early 1990s after the disintegration of the USSR.

According to data provided by the Russian military, the reserves at the military depots of the self-proclaimed republic reduced by another 650 tons after a regular echelon with ammunition left it. It is planned that two more such echelons with ammunition will leave for Russia next week. Russia is withdrawing weapons from the former CIS hot spot in compliance with its international commitments.
