It Is Planned To Sign A Number Of Agreements During Visit Of Prime-minister Of Russia To Venezuela

It is planned to sign a number of documents in the course of the visit of Prime-Minister of Russia Mikhail Kasyanov to Venezuela which is beginning on Friday, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Yakovenko stated. It is supposed, in particular, to sign an agreement on cooperation in the energy sector and in tourism, on setting up a Russian-Venezuelan High-Level Commission (KVU), and on mutual understanding between the All-Russian Bank of Development of Regions and the Bank for Economic and Social Development of Venezuela, Yakovenko pointed out. Underlying the treaty-legal base of bilateral relations is the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Venezuela signed on May 24, 1996. According to Yakovenko, the intergovernment agreement on cultural and scientific cooperation and the agreement on mutual annulment of visas for citizens of the two countries with diplomatic and service passports are in force. A total of 19 agreements have been signed since 1992.
