On the occasion of the greatest Moslem holiday of fast-breaking Id al-fitr which is beginning on December 17 security chief of the new Pashtun administration of Nangarhar province Khazrat Ali released from prison 200 Pakistani citizens who fought on the Taliban side. As The Frontier Post newspaper writes, on Friday the amnestied must arrive in Pakistan via the Torkham point of crossing. It is not clear, however, what awaits the Pakistanis in their homeland. Under law they must be arrested for the illegal crossing of the border (their travel to Afghanistan is meant). Dozens of returning active members of the Pakistani religious parties, who fought the Northern Alliance in the ranks of the Taliban, have already been detained by border guards and police.
