Russia and USA worked together to draft latest resolution of UN Security Council on Iraq

Russia and the USA worked together to draft the latest resolution of the UN Security Council on Iraq, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Igor Ivanov stated at the press conference after the end of his meeting with US Secretary of State Colin Powell. "We note with satisfaction that the UN Security Council unanimously adopted the resolution", Ivanov stressed. According to him, both sides are making efforts to develop Iraq's dialogue with the UN Secretary-General on the question of implementing the UN resolutions. "We hope that this dialogue will lead to the return of international observers to Iraq", the Russian Minister emphasized. He believes that such a decision will help achieve progress in the fulfilment of the UN resolutions on Iraq which will eventuate in lifting the sanctions from that country.
