Head of the Russian emergencies ministry Sergei Shoigu arrives with a working visit in Bulgaria from Croatia on Saturday. The press service of the Bulgarian government reported that the Russian guest will hold talks in Sofia with Bulgarian minister Neshdet Mollov who invited him. The sides will discuss issues of cooperation between the departments of the two countries responsible for overcoming the aftermaths of natural calamities and industrial accidents.
The Russian minister is expected to be received by Bulgarian president Georgi Purvanov.
On Saturday evening Sergei Shoigu will fly to the Romanian capital, Bucharest.
The choice of the city of Helsinki is not incidental as the capital of Finland had hosted US-Soviet negotiations on the limitation of nuclear stockpiles in 1969
