30 trucks loaded with United Nations World Food Programme cargos arrived at the Ishkashim frontier post on the Tajik-Afghan border on Wednesday. During the day, the humanitarian load, which consisted of wheat flour delivered to the border by joint efforts of Russian, Tajik and Kyrgyz emergencies ministries, was shipped across the border to Afghanistan. On the same day, Russian border guards at the Ishkashim frontier post cleared some 160 tons of other humanitarian cargos, mostly wheat, medical supplies and diesel fuel, all of them provided by the United Nations and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Society. Almost 80% of emergency humanitarian aid for Afghanistan is being shipped across the Tajik-Afghan border.
