Russia, US, Britain to Be Represented Most Heavily at Aero India 2003

Russia, the US and Great Britain are the countries that will be represented most heavily at Aero India 2003, the international aerospace show to take place at Bangalore on February 5 through 9.

The three countries have reserved the vastest exhibition space. Prominent among other participants in the biennial event will be France, Israel, Canada, Brazil, Malaysia and others. The show organisers have sent out invitations to a total of over 50 countries all across the world.

To be on display are the latest developments of India's aircraft industry, particularly a dummy of an Indian-made light combat aircraft and of an ALH advanced light helicopter. Russia will feature a MiG-AT advanced jet trainer, a MiG-29 fighter, a modified MiG-29 M2 and a Su-30. Also on display will be Britain's Hawk trainer, the US' Bell 407 and Apache copters, etc.

The air show's chief sponsor is the Indian defence procurements department, which groups 39 military enterprises and 8 state-owned concerns dealing in production of dual-purpose products.
