Former U.S. first lady Nancy Reagan taken to hospital in London

Former U.S. first lady Nancy Reagan was taken to hospital in London, a spokeswoman said Thursday

Mrs. Reagan, 83, slipped and fell in her hotel room in London, where she was vacationing, spokeswoman Joanne Drake said.

Doctors examined Mrs. Reagan and said she had not been hurt badly. She was sent back to her hotel for rest, Drake said.

The former first lady will continue her 10-day stay in Britain, Drake said.

"She will be following her doctor's advice to limit her activities over the next two weeks until the pain subsides and full mobility returns," Cathy Busch, an aide traveling with the former first lady, said in a statement.

Mrs. Reagan has already met with former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, a longtime friend. She also visited Prince Charles and his new wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, at their London residence, Clarence House.
