On Tuesday morning Kabul was repeatedly subjected to air strikes. Referring to the Al-Jazeera TV station in Qatar, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports that at least three powerful explosions shook the areas north of the capital. Al-Jazeera noted that a US fighter had appeared in the skies to call for fire from anti-aircraft guns, then when Taliban positions became identified other planes appeared to deliver bomb strike at them. Since Monday the Afghan capital has been left with no electricity, but life goes on in the city, markets and shops are open, there are many people in the streets and the traffic is rather heavy on the roads. Al-Jazeera showed Kabul living quarters destroyed by the bombings. Monday saw a record high number of US air attacks on Afghanistan since the start of the military operation on October 7. As many as 130 sorties have been registered over Kandahar alone.
