The London show is scheduled for July 7 at the newly-completed Wembley Stadium. A spokeswoman for eBay.co.uk said the concert is a "special event," and that this is the first time the site had put such a requirement in place.
"Users in (Britain) who decide to sell Live Earth tickets for Wembley on eBay.co.uk will be required to donate at least 20 percent of the final sale price to charity through the 'eBay for Charity' program," said Vanessa Canzini, the Web site's spokeswoman. "It is tackling something that we believe in. It's a huge issue of global importance, so we're delighted to be able to help."
The 55 pound (US$110; 80 EUR) tickets will be allocated by ballot. Succesful applicants are to recieve notification tomorrow, the Live Earth Web site says.
Madonna, the Beastie Boys and Black Eyed Peas will headline the concert in London. Headliners for the U.S. concert at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., include Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Kanye West, Rihanna, John Mayer, Smashing Pumpkins and Fall Out Boy.
