Non-cash Russian rouble will be brought into circulation in Belarus on July 1st

On July 1, the non-cash Russian rouble will be brought into circulation in Belarus, reported deputy chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Vladimir Senko.

"The Belarussian enterprises and companies will be able to pay freely for the mutual goods and services in Russian roubles," said the banker at a press conference in Minsk. According to him, if Belarussian enterprises and organisations have the Russian currency on their accounts, they will be able even to pay taxes in Russian roubles.

The National Bank of Belarus is convinced that "no technical malfunctioning will occur because of the innovation and that the payment systems of the two countries are ready for the transition to a single means of payment," said the spokesman for the National Bank of Belarus.
