Afghan Premier Arrives In Rome

Hamid Karzai, the Head of the Afghan interim government, arrived in Rome on Tuesday night. The nephew of former Afghan King Zahir Shah welcomed him in the airport, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports. The aim of Karzai's visit to Rome is to discuss with Zahir Shah the King's home-coming. According to some data, he is to return to Afghanistan in late January. However, before meeting Zahir Shah, Hamid Karzai is to hold talks with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and to tell him about his programme, ex-king's cronies said. Hamid Karzai is to leave Rome on Tuesday evening.
