From april 19 to 22 the militia in Moscow will be on the alert

From April 19 to 22 the militia in Moscow will be on the alert. As the RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the Moscow Main Interior Department, this decision was taken in view of possible disturbances and other violations of the law in the coming weekend which can be provoked by extremist groups on April 20, Hitler's birthday, and on April 21 during the CSKA-Spartak match. The relations between the fans of these football clubs are especially tense. More militiamen will be on guard at embassies and diplomatic and trade missions of foreign countries in Moscow. Additional military patrols, jointly with servicemen from the Interior Ministry troops, will be on duty at railway stations, in airports, inside metro stations and in big trade centres. The militia will also guard residential areas and the routes frequently used by foreigners. From April 19 to 22, the metro stations will be daily patrolled by more than a thousand law enforcers to prevent extremist raids. As was earlier reported by the chief of the Moscow Department for Work with the Bodies for Ensuring Security in the Russian capital, Nikolai Kulikov, "the militia have sufficient power to prevent possible crimes of the skinheads on Hitler's birthday. According to Nikolai Kulikov, "the law enforcement bodies do not regard the skinheads as a real force." "We ourselves stir up emotions around this phenomenon, thus giving sort of publicity to the skinheads." According to the data of the Main Interior Department, the Moscow law enforcement bodies have registered over 1,200 people belonging to six extremist organisations.
