The only plane crash survivor lost memory

The only survivor of the crash of a small plane that went down in an agricultural field at California Polytechnic University, Pomona, told authorities he has no recollection of the crash.

"All he could tell us is that they were flying one minute, and next thing he knows they were in a field," said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Ed Osorio. Two other people aboard the single-engine Piper Comanche 250 were killed when it slammed into the ground at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday near the state's Lanterman Developmental Center for the developmentally disabled. They were identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as James Shear, 56, of Chino and Jeffrey David Rice, 32, of Bakersfield.

The survivor, whose name was not released, was listed in stable condition Thursday at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He appeared to suffer only minor cuts to his mouth, Osorio said, reports the AP.
