U.S. Ambassador To Moscow: Washington Advocates Qualitative Improvement Of Russia-NATO Relations

The United States advocates qualitative improvement of Russia-NATO relations, Alexander Vershbow, U.S. ambassador to Russia, told a press conference in Moscow. According to him, mechanisms to integrate Russia into the North-Atlantic Alliance as a partner on a parity basis should be developed. The diplomat recalled that the declaration by Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush on the results of the recent summit in Washington stressed the need to hold coordinated actions between Russia and NATO. According to the U.S. ambassador, in the course of the anti-terrorist operation Russia and NATO are interacting as "allies."
