Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines Chakib Khelil, the President of the Organisation of Petroleum-Exporting Countries, is satisfied with cooperation between the OPEC members and other major oil-producing countries, such as Russia, Mexico, Norway and Oman. On Wednesday the OPEC Secretariat-General in Vienna has published his statement issued in Algeria. Khelil is to visit Moscow and to hold talks with Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov. The OPEC President gave a high appraisal of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov's talks with President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez and other Venezuelan leaders in Caracas. According to him, OPEC can also profit by the development of relations between Russia and Venezuela, one of the most active members of the world petroleum cartel. Chakib Khelil intends to hold constructive and productive talks with Russian energy leaders in Moscow on Russian-OPEC relations and on the recent events in the world raw materials' market.
