Ambassador of Iraq in Moscow Refutes Reports About Possibility of Using Weapons of Mass Destruction by Iraq

The ambassador of Iraq in Moscow, Abbas Khalaf Kunfud, has refuted the reports that in the course of military operations Baghdad may use weapons of mass destruction.

Answering the questions of reporters at a news conference on Thursday, Abbas Khalaf Kunfud underscored that the UNMOVIC and IAEA inspectors "have not found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq." "In order to use weapons of mass destruction, in particular chemical weapons, we must buy them somewhere," said the ambassador.

At the same time, according to Abbas Khalaf Kunfud, the Iraqi leadership does not exclude that the United States may use chemical weapons "as soon as it sustains losses in manpower."
