Hanoi Sharply Denounces Military Operations of US, UK in Iraq

The government of Vietnam resolutely condemns the military operations of the United States and Great Britain in Iraq. The official spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Phan Thuy Thanh, spoke about it on March 20.

Aggression has started, she said, despite the numerous protests of the entire world community, bypassing the United Nations and violating all norms of the international law. The American bombs and missiles will undoubtedly kill thousands of innocent civilians, said Phan Thuy Thanh.

On behalf of all the Vietnamese people, the government of Vietnam expresses its resolute protest against the bombing of Iraq. It demands to immediately stop the military operations in the territory of the independent state, to put an end to this war and to resolve all arising inter-state problems by peaceful means in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international law.
