France: Interior Minister Admires Russian Police Weaponry

Russia has top-notch manufacturers of arms and equipment for the safety of people-in-the-street, entrepreneurs and the state as a whole, said Daniel Vaillant, French Interior Minister, after he saw the Russian exposition at the MILIPOL PARIS 2001, a 12th international show of police and security weaponry and equipment, underway in Le Bourget near Paris. Mr. Vaillant made special mention of an excellent design of Russian stands, and of gripping interest with which he saw the exhibits. He displayed special attention for items from the Tula Arms Works, Russia's oldest, and said that French secret services would welcome its weapons. Sergei Chemizov, first deputy president of the Rosoboronexport--Russian government arms-dealing company, and Anatoli Isaikin, Russian exposition manager, were Daniel Vaillant's guides about the show.
