Iran Urges US to Extradite Opposition Fighters

General Safawi, in command of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, has called on the United States to extradite fighters of Iran's outlawed armed opposition, the Iraq-based People's Mujahedeen organisation.

General Safawi issued a statement Tuesday saying, that if the US' rhetoric about the anti-terrorism cause is true, it must extradite to Iran the fighters of the organisation even Washington has placed on the list of terrorist organisations. The General claims the fighters are in the US' hands.

The People's Mujahedeen organisation is a major opposition group in Iran. Based in Iraq it has been fighting against Iran's ruling regime.
